TagDis has been out on the iPhone for two weeks now, and we're stoked at how people are using it. Here are some of our favorite pieces, both stand-alone, and in their locations in the (sort of) real world, as displayed in street view. We've also put in links to a few artist maps - it's kind of amazing the different places the tags have ended up.

A few TagDis players have figured out you can bomb an entire area super-easily. Our guess is that more players will decide this is the way they want to play the game. Others may decide they're going for placement and staying more underground. You can play it either way - it's fun to see the use of the gam evolving.

Since TagDis went live about ten days ago, we've had thousands of people drop virtual graffiti tags. There are loads and loads of great ones. This morning, we like this one the best - it really uses the tools, it's creative, and soulful. We love it.

We had fun setting up the ARE2010 Virtual Graffiti competition today. We tried to make it easy for folks attending the show to play the game casually as they come and go (hey - it's a casual, social game - so we tried to make it casual and social!).

So the initial tags are nicely placed: facing the convention center main checkin area; just outside the Hyatt, for easy spraying on your morning walk to check in; and outside the Avatar, temporary home of many AR enthusiasts.

TagDis! The Virtual Graffiti Game You Play in the Real World

TagDis is about to be released for the iPhone. We're stoked! TagDis is a social augmented reality game played in the real world. Creativity. Connection. And you can tag and not get busted. Check it out. Follow the game as it unfolds on Twitter.

Here's a snapshot of how the game works.

1. Look Around

See the graffiti that's been dropped around you already. Check it out. The green areas are "spots", where tags have been dropped already. Each spot has a King - the owner of the tag with the most "Strength".

2. Look Around in AR

This is more like it. Check out the tags around you in all their glory. Get points just for looking!

3. Get In There - Make Your Own Tag

Use the built-in Tag Creator - spray right on top of the scene. Use a stencil. Freestyle it. You choose. Knock yourself out.

4. Make Your Mark - Drop Your Tag

Pan around until you find the right spot. And drop your tag right there. Are you King yet? Check your score at the spot. Better play some more (view some more tags, drop some more tags, rate a tag or two up or down).

5. How are You Doing? Check The World, Check Your Friends

Are you in the top 25 (Royalty)? Could you be? How are you doing against your friends? Check it out. They're not playing yet? Better invite them!

6. Check The World of Tags : TagDis.com

Tagdis.com shows all the tags in the world, the players, the spots and the standings. Go check it.

If you're in or around Philadelphia tomorrow, check out a group of taggers at Third and Walnut this Friday from about 3.30 on.
